Little Warriors: Be Brave Ranch

We are holding a 50/50 draw in support of the Little Warriors Be Brave Ranch. The Little Warriors Be Brave Ranch is a specialized, trauma-informed and evidence-based treatment centre focused on helping children who have been sexually abused, as well as their families. Designed with leading academic and clinical experts who specialize in child sexual abuse, the Be Brave Ranch program will help children overcome the devastating effects of child sexual abuse, and change the trajectory of their lives. With the proper therapeutic interventions, child survivors of sexual abuse can become adults with strong mental health that supports a positive outlook on life which enables them to participate in life and accomplish their goals.

Mental Health Initiative for Children & Adolescents at the Alberta Childrens Hospital and Stollery Children’s Hosptial.

In 2020-21, Avery’s Foundation raised over $140K for mental health support at the two main Alberta Hospitals.

This cause was important to us due to the tremendous impact it has on children’s mental health as shown in the Stollery’s own data:

– 70 per cent of mental health problems begin in childhood and adolescence
– Mental health affects one in two Canadians by age 40
– Half of those with chronic disorders show symptoms by age 14

In 2020, Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation committed to raise $6.5M over five years to bring integrated, clinical mental health services to the Stollery Children’s Hospital. support and commitment has helped the integrated mental health services within the emergency department to boost helpline support to be 24/7, along with other improvements including building a separate walk-in clinic space to help to increase timely access to an expert team of nurses, social workers, therapists, and child and adolescent psychiatrists.

Outpatient Emergency Room

Our Outpatient Exam Room has been completed at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatchewan.

Back in 2016, The Avery Linton Foundation pledged to raise $50,000 to purchase a NICU Incubator. Shortly after another pledge of $100,000 was made to provide the fully equipped Outpatient Examination Room.

Thank you to all our supporters who make it possible for us to continue to raise money for Children’s charities.

Golf Tournament & Kids Karnival 2019

On Sunday, June 9, 2019, the Avery Linton Legacy Foundation held its 3rd annual Golf Tournament and 2nd annual Kids Karnival at the RedTail Landing Golf Course.  This year we raised over $50,000!  These funds will go toward facility upgrades at the Edmonton Down Syndrome Society.  Our goal is to create a new literacy space and a designated occupational therapy room.   A big thanks to all of our guests and sponsors for making this event a success!
