Some Past Foundation Accomplishments

The A.L.L Children’s Charity has raised over 1.5 million for registered charities across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.  We focus our giving on tangible items and experiences that will benefit children in our communities. This is a list of some of our projects.

STARS Air Ambulance

Over the last few years we have raised over $200,000 for STARS and this included the purchase of ten Cardiac Monitors. Did you know? Cardiac monitors are one of the most important pieces of equipment on a STARS helicopter. Cardiac monitors are used to monitor every patient flown by STARS. This vital piece of equipment monitors a patients heart rhythm, oxygen levels, defibrillation and cardiac pacing among other important vital signs.

Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation

Over the last couple years we have raised over $120,000 for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. This donation was inspired by a little warrior named Madden and included the purchase of two specialized Canopy Beds, six Paediatric ENT Scopes & four Joey Baby Warmers.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters

In 2018 we hosted a group of Big Brother/Big Sisters and their matches on a bonding trip to Vancouver, BC. This unforgettable getaway included a private plane ride to Vancouver, the opportunity to see the Pacific Ocean, Stanley Park, a visit the Vancouver Aquarium and see a NHL hockey game.

Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation

In 2017-18 we raised $50,000 to fund the purchase a NICU incubator for the new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In 2018 we pledged to raise an additional $100,000 for a Pediatric Outpatient Emergency Exam Room at this new facility that will offer world class care. We are proud to be a part of this state-of-the-art hospital is slated to open its doors in 2019.

BC Children’s Hospital Foundation

During 2013/14 we raised $200,000 to fund the building of a classroom at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. This facility is used daily for children’s programs, birthday parties & day camps. The room has interactive exhibits that provide a hands-on learning experience. It also features high-tech equipment that supports both teaching and learning.

The Valley Zoo Development Society, and the Edmonton Valley Zoo had the great privilege of working with the Avery Linton Legacy Foundation along side the Linton and Newton families as they raised funds to name of the classrooms at the Edmonton Valley Zoo’s newly opened Ed-Venture Lodge.

The Avery Linton Nature Studio is the first classroom in the Ed Venture Lodge and has the stunning feature of interior wall that matches the beautifully designed and constructed outer rammed earth wall in the Entry Plaza.  The Edmonton Valley Zoo runs programs for over 35,000 children annually. Our school and summer programs sell out faster than any other facility in the Edmonton area, and we are seeing double digit increases each year.  The new classrooms in the Ed Venture Lodge enabled us to increase our capacity and ability to offer increased programming for Edmonton and Area families.

The funds raised during this project will contribute to the next phase of development of the Edmonton Valley Zoo, Nature’s Wild Backyard.

Nature’s Wild Backyard will replace the traditional family areas of the Edmonton Valley Zoo with four new zones for children to learn about their environment, conservation, habitat and animal stewardship through immersing themselves in the zones the animals we share this planet with live in.  Above, Under, Between and On the land. The incredible gift from the Avery Linton Legacy Foundation not only helps us provide programming for children every year, but will help build a magical place that fosters the love of animals and nature for many generations to come.
